The Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026 runs from 31 October to 29 November, and the easiest way for a company to join is to treat it as a four-week team project. Register everyone for free, set one shared goal, book one or two group moments, and make 30 minutes of movement possible inside the working day.
This guide gives HR leads, founders and office managers the key dates, a simple week-by-week plan and ideas that work for every fitness level.
Key takeaways
- The challenge asks for 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. Any movement counts.
- Registration is free at dubaifitnesschallenge.com.
- Plan your team around three dates: the 31 October start, Dubai Run on 22 November and the 29 November finish.
- Team goals beat individual leaderboards. They include beginners, not just the fittest people.
- November is the start, not the finish. Plan now for how the habit continues in December.
What the Dubai Fitness Challenge is
The challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai. The idea is simple: 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days, often called "30x30". This year is the 10th edition, and the challenge has had more than 16 million participants across its first nine.
During the month, the city runs three free Fitness Villages, more than 23 Community Fitness Hubs and thousands of free classes. Everything is free to join.
It also lines up with the global guidance. The World Health Organization recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week for adults. That is exactly 30 minutes on each working day. Yet in 2022, more than 31% of adults worldwide didn't reach that level.
Key dates for your team calendar
Put these in the company calendar now. Dubai Ride, Dubai Run and Dubai Yoga all fall on a Sunday, which helps.
| Date | Event | Why it matters for teams |
|---|---|---|
| Sat 31 Oct | Challenge starts | Run your kick-off in the week before |
| Sun 1 Nov | Dubai Ride on Sheikh Zayed Road | A 4 km family route and a 12 km route |
| Sat 7 and Sun 8 Nov | Dubai Stand-Up Paddle at Hatta Dam | A weekend outing for adventurous teams |
| Sun 22 Nov | Dubai Run on Sheikh Zayed Road | 5 km and 10 km routes: the best team moment |
| Sun 29 Nov | Dubai Yoga and the challenge finale | A calm close, open to beginners |

Dubai Run starts at 6.30am, and everyone must finish by 9am, when the road reopens. In 2025 it drew a record 307,000 runners, and Dubai Ride had 40,327 cyclists. Both need registration in advance, so check the official site for when it opens and share the link with your team early.
Why it's worth doing as a company
You don't need a big programme to take part. The challenge gives you a ready-made reason to talk about movement, a citywide buzz and free events.
Done well, it also:
- Brings teams together. People who never talk at work end up running, walking or stretching side by side.
- Gives you a low-risk test. You see who gets involved and what they enjoy before you commit to a bigger budget.
- Reaches beyond the gym crowd. A walking group or a stretch break suits people who would never sign up for a bootcamp.
- Shows care in a visible way. Leaders who join in send a clear message that wellbeing matters here.
Large employers already do this at scale. In 2025, more than 22,000 Emirates Group employees took part, including over 2,000 in Dubai Run. You don't need those numbers. A team of 15 that moves together for a month is a real win.
A four-week plan for your team
Here is a simple plan that fits most offices. Adjust it to your size and working hours.
Before 31 October: set it up
- Pick one owner. One person who sends reminders and keeps the energy up. Ideally with a small group of volunteers.
- Ask everyone to register. Share the link to dubaifitnesschallenge.com in your team channel.
- Set a team goal. For example: "Together, 30 minutes a day for 30 days" or a shared total of minutes or steps.
- Run a short kick-off. Fifteen minutes to explain the plan, share the dates and do a short movement session together.
Week 1 (31 Oct to 6 Nov): make it easy
- Start or end one meeting a day with five minutes of stretching.
- Suggest walking one-to-ones.
- Share the Dubai Ride routes and invite people to bring their families.
Week 2 (7 to 13 Nov): add a group moment
- Book one team session in the office or a nearby park.
- Share the list of free classes at the Fitness Villages and hubs once the calendar is out.
- Post a short weekly update: how many people are taking part, and one good story.
Week 3 (14 to 20 Nov): build towards the run
- Form a Dubai Run group with two training walks or runs together.
- Pair beginners with a buddy.
- Remind people to register for the run and agree a meeting point on the day.
Week 4 (21 to 29 Nov): celebrate
- Do Dubai Run on 22 November as a team. Walking the 5 km counts.
- Close with Dubai Yoga on 29 November or a calm team session.
- Thank people publicly and share a few photos (with their consent).
Ideas for every fitness level
The fastest way to lose people is to make the challenge feel like a competition only the fittest can win. Offer options at different levels.
| Level | Ideas that count towards 30 minutes |
|---|---|
| New to exercise | A 30-minute walk at lunch, stretch breaks, walking meetings, the 4 km Dubai Ride route |
| Some activity | A beginner class at a Fitness Village, a group walk-jog, the 5 km Dubai Run |
| Already active | A 10 km Dubai Run goal, a team paddle at Hatta, strength sessions with a buddy |
| Busy leaders | Two 15-minute blocks in the diary, walking calls, a family bike ride at the weekend |

Make it fair and inclusive
A few small choices make a big difference to who joins.
- Use team goals, not individual rankings. A shared target lets everyone contribute.
- Count all kinds of movement. Walking, yoga, cycling, dance and playing with the kids all count.
- Respect privacy. Make sharing results optional. Never ask about weight or health.
- Mind the clock. Offer options before work, at lunch and at the weekend, so shift workers and parents can join.
- Keep it voluntary. Encourage, don't pressure. People can always pause and come back.
- Remind people to listen to their body. Anyone with a health concern should check with their doctor before starting something new.
Track it simply
You don't need fancy tools. Pick two or three measures and share them weekly.
- Participation. How many people registered and took part each week.
- Team minutes. A rough total of active minutes, self-reported in a shared sheet or app.
- How people feel. One quick question at the start and end: "How is your energy at work, from 1 to 10?"
These numbers become your case for what comes next. If the energy score goes up and people ask for more, you have the start of a wellness budget. Our guide to what corporate wellness costs in the UAE shows how to turn that into a proposal.
Keep the habit after 29 November
Most teams lose momentum the week after a challenge ends. Plan the next step before the month starts.
- Keep one weekly group session going into December.
- Keep the walking group and the stretch breaks.
- Set a lighter goal for the festive season, such as 20 minutes a day.
- Talk about sleep and recovery as well as movement. Both drive energy at work. Our guide on sleep as a performance strategy is a good place to start.

Every attendee gets a takeaway habit kit and two weeks of access to the Elle Fit app. Wellness Days start from AED 3,000.
For teams that want to keep going after November, our Monthly Programme adds weekly or bi-weekly sessions and a private team space in the app.
The challenge starts on 31 October. See our programmes or book a Wellness Day for your team. We reply within one working day.
Frequently asked questions
When is the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026?
+
The 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge runs from 31 October to 29 November 2026. The goal is 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. Dubai Ride is on 1 November, Dubai Stand-Up Paddle on 7 and 8 November at Hatta Dam, Dubai Run on 22 November and Dubai Yoga on 29 November.
Can a company take part in the Dubai Fitness Challenge as a team?
+
Yes. Registration is free for everyone at dubaifitnesschallenge.com, so each employee signs up individually and the company organises the team side: a kick-off, shared goals, group sessions and a team entry into events like Dubai Run. Large employers such as the Emirates Group have done this at scale.
How do we include employees who don't exercise?
+
Count any 30 minutes of movement, not just workouts. Walking meetings, stretching breaks, a family bike ride on the 4 km Dubai Ride route or a beginner yoga class all count. Set team goals rather than individual leaderboards so nobody feels left behind.
How much does it cost to run a company Dubai Fitness Challenge?
+
Registration and the flagship events are free. Your main costs are time, a few small rewards and any sessions you bring in. At Ellefit, a single on-site or virtual Wellness Day for your team starts from AED 3,000.
